About Pius Fanuel Gondeka

Pius Fanuel Gondeka is a Tanzanian historian, heritage specialist, and tourism professional dedicated to preserving and promoting the country’s rich cultural legacy. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Heritage Management from the University of Dar es Salaam, where he built a strong foundation in heritage conservation, cultural studies, and sustainable tourism.

Pius has gained extensive professional experience at the National Museum of Tanzania, where he served in multiple capacities including History Curator, Exhibition Officer, Front Desk Officer, Social Media Administrator, and Tour Guide for both local and international delegates. These roles allowed him to blend research, heritage presentation, visitor engagement, and digital outreach in advancing the museum’s mission of safeguarding and interpreting Tanzania’s history.

Beyond his museum career, Pius worked as a Tutor at the National College of Tourism, lecturing in Tour Guiding Operations. In this role, he trained and mentored future tourism professionals, emphasizing the importance of cultural interpretation, storytelling, and professional ethics in guiding practices.

As both a heritage manager and educator, Pius is passionate about making Tanzania’s complex historical narratives accessible to broad audiences. His vision is to integrate heritage preservation with sustainable tourism, positioning Tanzania as a leading destination where culture and history are not only protected but also celebrated and shared with the world.
